biniki Sofia. Several hundred people gathered outside the National Assembly for their morning protest against the Oresharski cabinet. After traditionally drinking their coffee in front of Parliament, the protesters now changed the motto of their demonstration to that of a "Beach Revolution."

swimwear Many people have brought their towels and umbrellas to express their negative views on the fact that the MPs are about to leave for their summer holidays on Monday. Some of the protesters are in bathing suits and are sunbathing, while others are playing volleyball on an improvised court.

bikini There is also a splash pool, where children bathe.

girls swimwear Two small groups are gathered at the back and the side entrance of the National Assembly, which is protected by police cordons.

bathing suits A man was arrested by the police, while another clashed with them as he initially refused to identify himself.

bathing suits People from the countryside also joined the protests: some 50 demonstrators arrived from Blagoevgrad and a group of Plovdiv expressed its demand on a transparent saying "Plovdiv wants one: Resignation."

The Initiative #izkazhisebe (#изкажисебе) is also continuing. Here, protesters can post their comments in a box which will be later handed to National Assembly Chairperson Mihail Mikov.

Traffic on the Tsar Osvoboditel boulevard is blocked. Today, the protest is expected to last longer than usual, due to the duration of the debate on the revised budget, which will be voted today in its second reading by the lawmakers.

The budget update was also discussed by the Reformist Bloc, in an organised alternative meeting on the proposed draft held on the square in front of the National Assembly today early morning.

Whitey Bulger found guilty of 11 murders as mob boss
Written by Steven Dufour

pandora After five days of jury deliberations, nine weeks on trial and 16 years on the run from the federal government, James “Whitey” Bulger was found guilty Monday of 31 of the 32 counts brought against him at the John Joseph Moakley Courthouse in South Boston.

pandora cheap outlet Bulger was convicted of 11 of the 19 murders he allegedly committed as a former mob boss of the Winter Hill Gang during the 1970s and 1980s. He was found not guilty on seven murder charges and the jury could not reach a decision on the final charge.

pandora charms sale Relatives of the victims and the prosecution said his conviction was worth the wait.

pandora jewelry on sale “So many lives were so terribly harmed by the criminal actions of Bulger and his crew, and today’s conviction does not alter that harm,” said Carmen Ortiz, United States Attorney for Massachusetts. “However, we hope that they find some degree of comfort in the fact that today has come and Bulger is being held accountable for his horrific crimes.”

discount pandora charms Upon hearing the verdict, several relatives of victims were brought to tears and others also displayed emotion in a press conference held outside the courthouse after the decision was heard, various news outlets reported.

pandora charms sale “It was a lot of emotion I’ve been holding in for a long time,” said Patricia Donahue, whose husband, Michael, was also killed by Bulger during a hit on a rival Mafia informant. “It makes me feel good to let people know that my husband was an innocent person in this whole saga that’s been going on and that Whitey deserved to be guilty on his charge.”

The only murder charge the jury would not decide on was that of Debra Davis, as they could not reach a unanimous consensus.

Davis was the girlfriend of Stephen Flemmi, one of Bulger’s closest associates, at the time of her death. She was allegedly strangled by Bulger in 1984 because she could have told other people that Flemmi and Bulger were informants for the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Steve Davis, Debra’s brother, said he was happy with how the prosecution and the defense presented their cases, but he believed Bulger was innocent of killing his sister. He said Flemmi “definitely did it,” and that he would never be done grieving.

“I don’t believe in closure,” he said. “I have to live every day, my family has to live every day and the rest of the families have to live every day with the fact that they lost a loved one. They can’t bring them back. I can’t use the closure on that … She [Debra] knows I’m a fighter.”

Since the trial began in June, the jury heard testimonies from 72 witnesses as the prosecution and defense made their cases. Witnesses included extorted drug dealers, confessed killers who worked with Bulger and FBI agents who knew of Bulger’s status as an informant against the rival Mafia.

Testimony often brought emotions and tensions to a peak as former friends and associates saw their boss for the first time in years. Several times throughout the trial, Judge Denise Casper had to silence the witnesses, the audience or the defendant after outbursts of profanity.

J.W. Carney, Bulger’s attorney, said he would file an appeal over a ruling that prevented Bulger from presenting a defense based on immunity he said the FBI granted him. Carney said Bulger never expected to get away with an acquittal.

“Mr. Bulger knew as soon as he was arrested that he was going to die behind the walls of a prison,” he said. “This trial has never been about Jim Bulger being set free and coming out of this court house.”

Hank Brennan, another attorney for the defense, said Bulger had his own goal for the trial.

“James Bulger has wanted to tell his story from the moment he was arrested,” he said. “This trial, while it tells quite a bit about the criminal justice and the corruptness in the department of justice, doesn’t begin to tell the whole story. I don’t think you’ve heard the last word from James Bulger.”

Bulger is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 13.

bikini Orlando Bloom , our hearts are with you, because we just got an exclusive look at these unbelievably sexy pictures of your supermodel wife Miranda Kerr , and you’re going to be fighting off a whole new wave of enamored guys. She’s featured in the September issue of V Magazine , which hits newsstands on August 29th, as Cicciolina , who is — history lesson! — a very, very sexy Italian adult film star from the 1970s.

Cicciolina is best known for giving political speeches with one of her, uh, twins exposed. And let’s just say that while we can’t exactly post the evidence, Kerr definitely reps her 100% accurately in that department in the pages of V (see above re: us feeling sorry for Orlando).

swimwear on sale Luckily for you, though, Cicciolina also is known for being an incredibly glamorous porn star, which is apparent in Kerr’s stunning photos above. With her tight lace getup, her soft, touch-me pink sweater, and free-love boho flower wreath, the Aussie model practically screams hot, sophisticated goddess.

In Norddeutschland…

Babys in Designerdaune

Also Marken.

Wer bestimmt, was meine wichtigen Themen sind?

Was wahrer Luxus bedeutet

fake watches Their loyal customer base has grown to appreciate Watch & Winders’ knowledge and understanding of the automatic watch winders market and, conversely, the retailer has come to understand the nature of their customers. They know that those who choose Watch & Winders are meticulous about sourcing high quality goods, and that they pay the right price for them. They want the finer things in life and are willing to pay the price for that whilst remaining savvy consumers.

swiss watches Now they can choose a luxury pen in addition to having their watch needs met. Though emails abound, the right pen still makes an impression – in the boardroom or a business meeting. For Two Female News Anchors, Morning Has Spoken

When you wake up at 3:30 a.m. to go to a job that starts in the predawn hours, lunch comes early. So, on a recent weekday morning at 10:45, Gayle King, one of the hosts of “CBS This Morning,” and Mika Brzezinski, the sparring partner of Joe Scarborough on “Morning Joe” on MSNBC, came together at Gotham Lounge at the Peninsula Hotel, dressed in near-matching green sheathes and very high heels, to share a midday meal (burrata and chicken Caesar salad for Ms. King; burrata and hot-and-sour soup for Ms. Brzezinski; freshly squeezed orange juice for both) and to talk about the demands of morning television, the roles of male and female anchors and not knowing who Russell Brand is.

“I wasn’t there for every single game. I didn’t want to be there for every single game, to be honest with you .” Gayle King

Philip Galanes: Let’s start with something you may be surprised to learn you have in common.

Gayle King: Is it a man?

PG: It’s a family paper!

GK: So, what were you going to say?

PG: I was going to pay you a compliment. Nearly every person I told about this interview said “I wish Mika talked more on her show” or “Why do they wait until the second hour to bring Gayle on?” You leave people wanting more. Does that surprise you?

GK: I’m surprised somebody said that about Mika. I think she talks a lot.

PG: Not half as much as Joe Scarborough.

GK: But she’s not sitting there like some mouseburger.

Mika Brzezinski: See, Gayle knows all the other stuff I’m doing. I’m moderating the voices: wrapping up Joe, preparing the next guest. And if I want to jump in, I do. But I’m satisfied, and that’s what it’s all about.

GK: Let me tell you what bothers me about this question. It implies that we are “lesser than,” and I don’t see it that way. When CBS approached me, they said, “We want you to come on in the second hour.” So, I’m not going, “Why am I not there in the first hour?”

PG: But look at the formula for morning TV. We’ve got a man in the main chair, a smart woman off to his side and the occasional gay weatherman. When do we get a woman in charge? When do we get a “Morning Mika?”

MB: I don’t want a “Morning Mika.” I don’t think that would work. What we have works.

PG: Thanks to the warmth that you two bring: Joe is teasing with the boys, and Mika settles him down. Charlie Rose is a little grumpy, and Gayle warms things up.

GK: He is not grumpy. Take that back, Philip. He is not.

PG: I take it back. Not grumpy, staid. And obviously, a first-rate journalist. But when you come on at 8 a.m., I think: Here’s something more humanizing. So, is that just you, or is it the role that women have to play on morning television?

GK: I definitely don’t feel that. It’s just my personality. I never play a role other than myself.

MB: And that’s been the way Gayle has done television for her entire career.

GK: You know, Mika and I worked together at Channel 3 [the CBS affiliate in Hartford] back in the day, so I’ve known her for a very long time.

MB: Whoever I am right now is who you see on TV. And that is something I learned from Gayle 20 years ago. It’s a talent. You either have it or you don’t.

GK: I don’t even think of it as a talent. It’s just my personality. I lost “friendliest of my class” by three votes to Joan Cawood. I voted for her.

MB: You voted for her? That’s just wrong. You should not vote for her.

GK: To this day, I think: Joan beat me as friendliest? I’m only bringing this up to say that I was so friendly that I didn’t even vote for myself. I would never do that today. Who does that?

PG: A 17-year-old girl.

GK: Yes, because you’re told when you’re growing up you shouldn’t be — —

MB: It’s important to be nice. It’s important that everyone likes you.

GK: And you shouldn’t be bragging about yourself. Or voting for yourself. It seemed egotistical to vote for yourself when, really, why wouldn’t you? You should vote for yourself before you vote for anybody else.

PG: The mood on “CBS This Morning” seems to be friendly but professional. There’s a decided absence of fake fizziness. Was that the decision from the get-go? Or was that just the way this particular group came together?

GK: Well, here’s the thing: Neither Charlie nor Norah [O’Donnell] would engage in that false kind of TV banter. There’s no obligatory ha-ha-ha. If none of us feel like reacting to something, we don’t.

PG: On the other hand, Mika, you and Joe are like lightning in a bottle. It’s like watching an office marriage, and it makes us think of our own office husbands and office wives. How much we like them — —

MB: And how much they get on our nerves.

PG: I’ve read that it was pretty much a fluke how you and Joe came together. But I sense you’ve made a career of being super collegial.

MB: Wow.

PG: I don’t mean that critically. I mean, Joe probably wouldn’t get along with any old person you sat next to him, but I bet you’d try harder to.

MB: Here’s how I’d put it. I’m drawn to people I don’t understand or agree with. Look, I have a brother who’s a Republican who worked in the Bush administration, and I wanted to jump him at dinner conversations during the Iraq war. And another brother who works for Obama. Then there’s my dad — —

PG: The brilliant Zbigniew Brzezinski [national security adviser under President Carter].

MB: My family finds its way through friction. The whole point of being a Brzezinski is to embrace someone when you disagree and explore it and grow from it.

GK: Without killing each other.

MB: Well, there were times that happened, too. But I’d much rather spend time with someone I don’t completely understand than someone who agrees with me on everything.

PG: You’ve both done some amazing interviews. Who pops into your head if I say “best interview”?

GK: I’m really proud we got Michelle Obama during our first two weeks.

PG: Not a bad get. How about you, Mika. Best interview?

MB: I don’t remember anything, so I’ll just go with the most recent. First off, standout interviews usually happen for me when I am raw and exhausted, when I’m at my most Gayle.

GK: When you’re raw and exhausted? That’s your most Gayle?

MB: When I’m raw and exhausted, I am actually too tired to be anything but myself, and so some of the best television and worst television comes out of those days. Recently I interviewed Russell Brand — —

PG: I saw it. How did you not know who Russell Brand was? When I watched, I thought: I bet this is a last-minute sub, and they didn’t give Mika a prep sheet.

GK: But you knew who he was.

MB: Sorry, Gayle, I didn’t. Listen, we taped that segment, and we didn’t have to air it. But the role I play on “Morning Joe” is the un-pop-cultured one, and sometimes things happen because I don’t know who Russell Brand is, and that’s what happened during that interview.

PG: Who is the best interviewer on TV today, not including either of you or Charlie or Joe?

GK: That rules out a lot of good people.

MB: I’m going to break the rule and say Joe. One of the reasons I sit next to him is because he does fascinating interviews and finds a way to get right to the point in a way I’ve never seen before.

GK: You’re going with Joe Scarborough over Charlie Rose? I have to respectfully disagree.

PG: And you’re going to go with Charlie Rose?

GK: Yeah.

PG: Do I get to break the tie? I sense not.

MB: I was Charlie Rose’s ball girl when I was 10 years old and he played tennis with my dad. Not to date him or anything. He hates it when I bring that up.

PG: Speaking of things you have to bring up, I couldn’t do this interview without mentioning Gayle’s BFF, Oprah Winfrey. The one and only time I met her — —

GK: Where was that?

PG: At a gay wedding at the Bel-Air Hotel. You were about three feet away.

Gayle: I remember. That was my first gay wedding.

PG: Anyway, Oprah told me that you are the best mother she’s ever seen. But now, as we watch everyone telling women how they’re supposed to live and work — Sheryl Sandberg’s “Lean In,” Anne-Marie Slaughter’s you-can’t-have-it-all [an essay in The Atlantic] — do you think labels like “good mother” and “better mother” are yet another way to judge women unkindly?

MB: I learned a lot from the “Third Metric,” a conference I hosted recently with Arianna [Huffington]. I would say that those labels have put me in the position I’m in — which is on this quest to be really good at everything I do: a great mom, perfect at my job, perfect looking, the perfect size. I don’t know why, but I feel like we women put the imposition on ourselves to be perfect at everything.

PG: When’s the last time you heard someone say, “He’s a great father” — with a sense that it really mattered?

MB: I say that about Joe. But you’re right. When they say it about men, they say it like it’s this unusual new thing. Like: Good for him!

PG: So, Gayle, were you the best mother?

GK: I don’t know how to cook. So my kids will never have any good memories of when Mom used to make X, Y and Z.

MB: Mine, either.

GB: It’s one of my biggest regrets that they ate terribly: fish sticks, Tater Tots, cereal. If I had to do it over in motherhood, I would do that. Better nutrition — —

PG: But isn’t that just what Mika was saying? Not only do you have to be a terrific journalist, now you’ve got to be a good cook on top of it?

GK: I didn’t say gourmet, Philip. How about edible? But I refuse to beat myself up about it. I wasn’t there for every single game. I didn’t want to be there for every single game, to be honest with you. Have you ever been to a Little League game that goes on for four hours? It is no fun.

MB: I love that honesty.

GK: People said: Did you see her first steps? [My daughter] Kirby started walking at noon. I was anchoring the news, and I got home at 6:30. So, when I saw it, it was still the first steps to me.

PG: Let me pick up on this notion of not beating yourself up. One of the things I found very moving about your new book, Mika, “Obsessed,” about food addictions and your food addiction, is that you felt you had to apologize in the introduction for being thin and saying you have this issue.

GK: Well, you can’t sit on TV and look like a beluga whale. You can’t.

PG: Neither of you do. So how far back did it go, when did you start feeling pressure to be exercising all the time?

MB: When I was about 15 years old, when I started getting curves.

PG: Could your family have done a better job, or do you just think it’s the tsunami of society coming at you?

MB: My family is incredibly loving. I don’t know what they could have done.

PG: Nobody said, “You could stand to lose a few pounds, Mika”?

MB: There was some of that in my family, but I knew where to put that. We all should. Ultimately, it’s in you, and I think everyone comes to an eating disorder from a different trauma or experience. Mine, believe it or not, was because my family is so hyper-successful and academic, and I didn’t feel I measured up. But what’s more interesting than me is how most people get to these places, the trauma and life experiences that can cause people to turn to food. And also the way that food is being engineered to make us addicted to it. I had my own cycle and problems and still do. But I’m 15 pounds heavier now. How does it look?

GK: You’re 15 pounds heavier?

MB: Yeah. I am 135. I used to be 118 or something ridiculous when I was writing the book. I’m learning to deal with that. But we don’t need to focus on it because people will just roll their eyes.

PG: How about your daughters? I bet it makes you really sensitive to their experience.

MB: I like this question because that is one of the reasons I wrote the book. I have two teenage daughters, and talking to them about food can be such a minefield. No matter what you say, you have someone saying, “Don’t do that, she’ll get an eating disorder!” Or “Don’t say that, she’ll become obese!” So, what do you say? I have this graphic in the book: What mothers usually say — like, “Do you really want to be eating another one?” — and what daughters think — “I’m disgusting, I’m fat.” That’s how they hear it. And the biggest take-away is not to talk about it in the act. If the kid is having a third piece of chocolate cake and you’re concerned about it, wait until later. Don’t do it then, you’re just creating guilt as the fork goes into the mouth.

GK: Oh, no. You’ve got to speak up when they’re having the third piece.

MB: I don’t know.

GK: You’ve got to say, “You’re not having another one of those.”

MB: Maybe at the third piece, yes.

PG: Did you see those Dove commercials? Women drawing pictures of themselves that were so distorted. I don’t know if it’s that way with men, too.

GK: It’s not with men. We just did this on the news: 75 percent of men in this country are overweight, but they don’t have any body issues. They’re O.K. with their Buddha bellies, their man boobs. But they don’t have the body issues.

MB: That’s so interesting.

PG: Gayle has a cameo in Mika’s book. But other than telling the funniest story ever about a McRib sandwich — going out in the rain to get one because it was a “limited time offer” — you don’t seem to have any body issues. Why’s that?

GK: Well, my hips are big. And I do have a certain way I want to look. I exercise. I try to eat right most of the time, but I’m not going to go through life depriving myself of anything I want. There’s always going to be somebody who’s thinner, prettier, richer, smarter. You just have to get to the point that you feel O.K. in your own skin and not lesser than.

PG: O.K., last question, just so the rest of us don’t feel too jealous of morning TV stars: How early do you wake up, and how medicated are you when you go to sleep?

GK: I set the alarm for 3:30.

PG: Yikes! Mika?

MB: Very early and very medicated.

GK: Really? No.

MB: This is why Gayle is the ultimate: no body issues, loves to eat, no trouble sleeping — —

GK: Well, I take Ambien if I’m traveling overseas, like when you go to South Africa for the first couple of days.

MB: What about every night for the past six years. Is that bad?

GK: That’s so bad. You really have got to stop doing that. What do you do on the weekends?

MB: I medicate.

GK: Don’t you like what you’re doing?

MB: I do. Very much.

GK: That is so important. When you like what you’re doing — —

MB: You make it happen.

GK: You do, Mika. That is so true. You figure it out and you make it happen. There are times when you don’t do a job that you want to do or go to an event that would be really cool because something at home is more important. But I’m not going to beat myself up at work, and I’m not going to beat myself up at home, either. I’m not going to do it.

Noch was?

SPEECH BY MR LEE YI SHYAN, SENIOR MINISTER OF STATE, MINISTRY OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY & MINISTRY OF NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT, AT THE SINGAPORE CHINESE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY’S 15TH SMES CONFERENCE / 16TH INFOCOMM CONFERENCE / SME EXPO 2013, 14 AUGUST 2013, 9:30 AM AT SUNTEC SINGAPORE
Mr Thomas Chua,
President, Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCCI),

Distinguished guests,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

1. watches                 Good Morning. swiss watches I am delighted to join all of you here today, and am happy to see such a big turnout at today’s conference.

2. top brand watches                 w e are here today to learn from and share with one another on leading-edge business strategies and practices, so that we can stay relevant, rise above the challenges and thrive in our rapidly changing economy. all brand watches Over the years, I have made some observations through my interactions with various companies and stakeholders in the industries. swiss watches Allow me to share rest of my speech with you in Mandarin.

Productivity and value creation – two sides of the same coin
3. replica watches                 “Productivity” has become one of the buzzwords for our economy. Many of you are familiar with the narrative – that we need to restructure our economy to continue to create exciting opportunities for ourselves and Singapore, and achieve sustainable, quality growth.

4.                 In fact, some of you may say that our renewed productivty movement is not new, as we have called for higher productivity in the early 1980s too. Yes and no. In 1980, our GDP per capita was US$4,990 [1] . Now we are US$52,051. As we move up the value chain, one could argue that incremental improvements leading to cost savings while good, would not be sufficient to maintain or improve our businesses. The key lies in value creation.

5.                 There is no doubt that businesses play an instrumental role in creating value. The question is whether our companies sense the urgency, know what is available out there in terms of technology and methods, and could mobilise their organisations and human resources for the change.

6.                 The national productivity drive to spur the productivity transformation has so far gained good traction. We see more and more companies taking steps to improve their productivity. Many of these initiatives focus on reducing reliance on manpower, through automation and technology adoption. These are important first steps. However, the real and sustainable change or improvements must come from value creation. No business can simply grow the bottomline by cutting costs only. Sooner or later, there is a limit to how much cost you can reduce.

7.                 At per capita US$50,000, Singapore is no longer a low cost country. If our business models remain stuck at per capita US$30,000, we are no longer competitive. No amount of subsidy can prolong our businesses of yesterday. Instead, we should study and benchmark ourselves with firms operating in economies with similar economic characteristics and performance. Some of these countries include Austria (per capita US$47,226), Belgium (US$43,413), Finland (US$46,179), Sweden (US$55,245), and Denmark (US$56,210) [2] .

8.                 For today’s discussion however, I would like to focus on Switzerland. Many of us know of today’s Switzerland being outstanding in many ways. Switzerland is a leading competitive economy, as evidenced by their 1 st place and 3 rd place ranking in the World Economic Forum (WEF) World Competitiveness Yearbook (WCY) and Institute of Management Development (IMD) Global Competitiveness Review (GCR) respectively. They are also a global leading exporter, with a per capita export value of US$32,722 in 2011. Switzerland’s watch industry is the 3 rd largest manufacturing industry in Switzerland, and produces more than half of the world’s watch output by value. Switzerland is also the world’s biggest producer and consumer of chocolates. Switzerland has also produced 27 Nobel Laureates, more than any other nation. These are just some of the accolades, as highlighted in a recent issue of the Global Views Monthly magazine, that demonstrate Switzerland’s leading economic prowess.

9.                 Few of us would know that just about 100 years ago, Switzerland was amongst the poorest in Europe. Her people had to work as export labourers and mercenary soldiers for a living. As a landlocked country, Switzerland faced many constraints in economic development.  Switzerland’s transformation in these hundred years therefore has been remarkable. Today, it remains a beacon for wealth and ideas in Europe and for the world.  Switzerland’s products command a premium.

10.              Switzerland and Singapore share some similarities in our economic circumstances. Both countries are relatively small, with populations of 8 million and 5.3 million respectively. Both of us face high business costs and limitations in manpower. Unlike Singapore though, which sits in the heart of a growing Asia, Switzerland is surrounded by economic uncertainty in the immediate European Union region. However, the Swiss economy continues to do relatively well at around 1.4 per cent forecasted GDP growth in 2013 [3] (versus a 0.3% contraction for the euro area [4] ), despite the challenges that they face. The Swiss have also built a strong reputation for premium quality and high value, which differentiates their products from cheaper competitors elsewhere.

11.              Allow me to share what the Swiss have done in value creation in three very different areas – chocolates, watches and pharmaceuticals.

Case Study 1: Lӓderach chocolates
12.              First, something close to our stomachs – chocolate. The Swiss are famous for their chocolate. In Singapore, some of the more popular chocolate brands are Swiss, such as Lindt, Lindor and Toblerone. In 2012, Switzerland exported 104,000 tonnes of chocolate [5] [6] and that only includes exports of Swiss-produced chocolate. Swiss chocolate companies also have many franchising arrangements to produce their chocolates anywhere in the world.

13.              The largest chocolate-maker in Switzerland today is Lӓderach chocolates. Started in 1962, the founder Rudolf Lӓderach Junior, who was then working in his father’s small bakery, decided to strike out on his own and set up his own chocolate atelier producing specialty hand-made chocolates and confectionaries [7] .

14.              However, Rudolf Junior was not satisfied. He continued to research and experiment with new recipes and ingredients. In 1970, he successfully created and patented a revolutionary process for producing thin-sided hollow truffle shells, which enabled him to make better tasting truffles in a simpler way. The truffle shells became an instant hit and set the company on a strong growth path.

15.              Today, Lӓderach continues to innovate in order to stay competitive and grow. They have expanded aggressively in the last decade by acquiring Merkur, a Swiss specialty chocolate retailer, so as to expand their value chain. Lӓderach has also grown its international business and is doing very well, with exports to the USA, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. They now have more than 50 franchise stores and 800 employees worldwide.

16.              By comparison, many other chocolate manufacturers compete at lower price points. Putting aside mass market chocolate products such as those produced by Cadbury, Van Houten and Nestle, we see that Lӓderach prices their chocolates even above competitors in the specialty chocolate space. For instance, for a box of 24 chocolate truffles, Lӓderach prices at around €28, whereas Ferrero Rocher prices at €11 and Guylian at €17. Despite pricing at a premium, Lӓderach still enjoys healthy sales due to the popularity and quality of their chocolates.

17.              Innovation to create new, higher value products; aggressive growth through acquisitions; and internationalisation to capture a wider customer base – these have helped Lӓderach to grow from strength to strength, from its humble beginnings.

Case Study 2 – Swiss watches
18.              Another product that is synonymous with Switzerland is watches. The Swiss are the world’s largest exporters of watches, with a total export value of 21.4 billion francs [8] (US$23.0 billion) in 2012. Some of the world’s biggest watch names, such as Rolex, Cartier and Mont Blanc, all hail from Switzerland.

19.              How did Switzerland become such a strong player in the global watch industry? As with many stories of successful businesses, it was partly serendipitous. Few of us know that jewellery was outlawed in Switzerland in 1541 on religious grounds. As a result, many jewellers moved into the watch-making industry, attaching their jewels to watches instead. This helped to satisfy the customers’ demand for luxury. On top of that, Swiss watches also exhibited superior performance due to the strength of the local Precision Engineering industry supporting it. The combination of performance and aesthetics enabled Swiss watches to grow in stature internationally and allowed them to command a premium for their watches [9] .

20.              When the digital watch, which were mainly made by Japanese brands such as Casio and Seiko, cornered the market in the 1970s and 1980s with its low prices and reasonable performance, more than 1,000 Swiss watch manufacturers went out of business. However, other Swiss watch companies such as Rolex stood firm and did not enter the digital space. Instead, they focused on positioning their watches as higher value and upmarket products. This paid off when digital watches became too mass-market and mainstream, and consumers began to re-embrace the beauty and status of mechanical watches. This led to a revival of the Swiss watch industry, which in 1995 once again took over the lead in world watch production with 38 million units shipped as compared to 30 million for Japan.

21.              In 2012, the average export price of Swiss watch was US$739 [10] per piece. China shipped the most pieces, at 662.5 million units but at an average price of US$3 per piece. Hong Kong was the second in terms of units shipped at 354.4 million units and Switzerland third at 29.2 million units. Swiss watches are never a volume mover, but they are the most profitable.

22.               The takeaway for our companies is that we do not necessarily need to  compete on price. Instead, we should look at improving quality and value and cater to the rising middle class and high-end markets in Asia. This is the core principle of value creation.

Case Study 3 – Roche
23.              The third and last product is one that Singapore is also strong in – pharmaceuticals. The pharmaceutical industry is very big in Switzerland, making up 30 per cent of their export share in 2010. In fact, the Swiss are so dominant in this industry that they occupy 5 per cent of global pharmaceutical exports. I believe most of us here will be familiar with household names like Roche, Novartis and Lonza.

24.              How many of you know that Roche did not start out as a pharmaceuticals company? When it was founded in 1896, it was better known for making vitamin preparations and derivatives. In 1934, it became the first company to mass-produce synthetic vitamin C, under the brand name Redoxon. However, Roche recognised that the production of vitamins would be highly competitive; and to avoid a strong dependency on vitamins, Roche intensified its research into pharmaceuticals [11] .

25.              In the 1950s, Roche’s researchers came across a powerful compound, benzodiazepine that sedated without causing drowsiness. It  was very effective when used as tranquilisers and achieved overwhelming success. Roche subsequently began to branch out into related products such as agrochemicals and medical instruments. Today, with its strong capabilities in both pharmaceuticals and diagnostics, Roche is well-positioned as one of the world’s leading companies in personalised healthcare.

26.              Recently, I visited Super Group’s very modern plant in Johor Bahru. Its investments there is about US$100 million and close to 100% of the Group’s instant soluble coffee powder is produced there. I was very impressed by how modern the production process was. In fact it resembled many pharmaceutical plants I have visited, with perhaps the difference in clean room specfications. The plant, which hired 905 employees, has plans to produce herbal extracts beverages such as flavoured teas, chicory coffee, ginseng coffee and high-value nutritional beverages such as traditional Chinese medicines, teas or herbal concentrates. Because it is a Singapore brand, there is a premium associated with Super Coffee products in the region and beyond.

Value creation is crucial for companies
27.              Yet Switzerland’s manufacturing prowess is not limited to these three product families. It also has niche players producing high-end precision machineries used in the electrical, metals and nanotechnology industries. And beyond these, Switzerland also has other world leading industries such as its banking and finance industry.

28.              A recent article in the Global Views Monthly magazine credited Switzerland’s success in the technology sector and quality products to their emphasis on craftsmanship. In Swiss society, craftsmanship is accorded with high respect, similar to how education is highly regarded in Asian societies like ours. After graduation, two-thirds of Swiss students go on to vocational schools, embark on apprenticeship through work-study programmes and acquire vocational skills. Through such arrangements, young people are put in touch with the workplace ecology very early and learn important vocational skills needed for their jobs. To a Swiss employer, academic background is not important; it is the skills of the worker that is important.

29.              Our earlier three examples underpin the fact that the Swiss companies are strong and successful because of their focus on value creation. In the case of Lӓderach, they continued to develop better and tastier chocolates. For Rolex, they firmly believed in improving the beauty, performance and perception of their watches, and not bow to the pressure of low-cost competition. For Roche, they did not stay stagnant but continued to venture into related industries that added value to their niche.

30.              It is important that our SMEs draw lessons from these positive examples and focus likewise on value creation. The main areas of value creation are innovation, product branding and product quality. Innovation allows the delivery of new products that consumers need and are willing to pay for. Branding and quality generate positive goodwill among consumers by improving their experience with the product. It also provides a springboard for companies to roll out new products in related areas in the future.

31.              There are many resources out there that SMEs can tap on in the pursuit of value creation and productivity improvements. For example, SPRING supports six Centres of Innovation (COIs) in the areas of food manufacturing, marine and offshore engineering, environment technology, precision engineering, electronics and logistics. These COIs support SMEs by providing laboratory facilities, technology consultancy and training courses, and assistance to test and develop technology projects. SPRING also administers assistance schemes under the Capability Development Grant banner, to help companies build and use their brands as a strategy for business competitiveness. I strongly encourage all SMEs to make use of these resources to improve your business capabilities.

Technology to Watch - The potential of 3D printing
32.              To wrap up, I would like to show a short video on a particular technology that has been generating a lot of excitement, and has the potential to transform the way we go about our design and prototyping efforts. 3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing, is a process of making a three-dimensional solid object of virtually any shape from a digital or physical model. For example, I can send a softcopy design to the printer and it will produce the model, or I can also use the printer to produce an identical copy of an object.

33.              3-D printing is exciting in that it has reached the point where mass customisation of products is becoming possible. Manufacturers can customise their products quickly for customers, at cost levels which are making low volume production viable. This has enabled suppliers to quickly create custom cases for mobile phones and have it 3-D printed. Our SMEs will need to embrace such technologies, and new ones that come along, in the process of value creation.

Conclusions
34.              It is one thing to hear the successes of businesses in other countries like the Swiss, but definitely more challenging to put them into practice. I am happy to see that SCCCI has been working together with business associations in the food and beverage and retail services sectors to organise business missions to Hong Kong, South Korea and Japan to learn from and exchange information on business best practices, as well as invite industry experts to Singapore to share their experiences and develop middle managers. At today’s event, SCCCI will also, together with the Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech), sign a cooperation agreement with the Taiwan and China Productivity Centre to leverage on their resources to help local enterprises upgrade their capabilities. I therefore strongly encourage our SMEs to strive hard to improve and grow your capabilities. The Government will continue to support your efforts in productivity, innovation, capability development and internationalisation.

35.              I wish all participants a fruitful time at the conferences and expo, and a good day ahead. Thank you.

omega watches Leon Cooperman’s Omega Advisor’s, a hedge fund with $8.9 billion in assets under management as of the end of July, sold stakes in some of the largest gold and silver ETFs during the second quarter after establishing those positions in the first quarter.

copy watch Omega sold $13.9 million in the SPDR Gold Trust (GLD) , $4.39 million of the iShares Silver Trust (SLV) and $4.35 million of the Market Vectors Gold Miners ETF (NYSEArc:GDX) in the second quarter, report Eric Lam and Katie Brennan for Bloomberg.

copy omega watches Gold and silver plunged during the second quarter, sliding 23% and 32%, respectively. Those declines led to massive outflows from gold ETFs such as GLD. Once the second-largest ETF in the world, GLD is now fifth among U.S.-listed ETFs. As of the end of July, investors had pulled $19.8 billion from GLD. Investors withdrew $2.6 billion from gold ETFs in July following redemptions of $4.3 billion in June, said BlackRock. [GLD Struggles to Keep Spot Among Largest ETFs]

omegawatches However, GDX and rival funds have notched sharp rebounds in recent weeks. Since the start of the current quarter, GDX is up 14.7%. The largest gold miners fund has surged 17.5% in just the past month. [Have Gold Miners ETFs Finally Hit a Bottom?]

NeNe Leakes Sued By Wedding Planner, Denies Allegations

tiffany NeNe Leakes has been sued by the wedding planner who worked on her extravagant second wedding to ex-husband Gregg Leakes .

tiffany rings Tiffany Cook claimed that Leakes has an outstanding bill of over $1 million for the June 22 wedding, which will be featured in a Bravo special in September. Cook said Leakes promised to pay her 15 percent of the total budget, as well as design fees and travel expenses. Altogether, Cook said Leakes’ budget was $1.8 million, and that she had only paid an initial down payment of $18,750.

cheap tiffany & co jewelry Cook is claiming that she is still owed $270,000 (15 percent of the budget), $889,900 in design fees, and $1,750 for four coach tickets from Florida to Georgia, for a total balance of $1,142,900. Cook is also suing for damages, and is ultimately asking for over $2.5 million from the Real Housewives of Atlanta star.

tiffany outlet store Leakes, however, said she doesn’t owe Cook anything , telling TMZ , “Tell her to show you the check and show you the d**n contract.” She also said that if Cook could prove that she signed a check or contract, that she would pay the media outlet. Leakes said she wished Cook the best in her attempt to get 15 minutes of fame.

tiffany & co However, Leakes didn’t stop there, and also went on a two-day Twitter tirade against Cook, saying that she wasn’t even the planner for the event, and Tony Conway of Legendary Events was in charge of the wedding. She also jokingly pleaded with fans to help her pay for the event since she is “struggling.”

wholesale tiffany jewelry Leakes isn’t the only RHOA star to be sued by a wedding planner. Last November, it was reported that Kim Zolciak owed celebrity planner Colin Cowie $200,000 for her November 2011 to Kroy Biermann. Cowie’s team wouldn’t comment on the matter, but Zolciak denied allegations that she hadn’t paid him.

What do you think of the lawsuit against NeNe Leakes?

Has Massive WWII Gold Hoard Been Found?
August 07, 2013
  AFP
“The biggest economic discovery in history…worth “$100 trillion”

By Dave Gahary

A man claiming to have in his group’s possession the legendary treasure known as “Yamashita’s Gold,” consisting of over $100T worth of precious metals and bank funds, was released from federal prison on July 3, 2013, and has agreed to speak with AMERICAN FREE PRESS to discuss details of the matter. He stated to this newspaper that “this money will pay off the budget deficit, and provide for Social Security and healthcare for perpetuity.”

Involved throughout this matter are top United States and international financiers and public officials, whose names would be recognized by this newspaper’s readers, as well as agents of U.S. intelligence agencies, with political intrigue running throughout. If the claims of this man are found out to be truthful, this could be part of a ground-shaking event that could significantly change the course of history for all of us.

In the April 2, 2012 issue of AFP, on page 9, John Tiffany, assistant editor of THE BARNES REVIEW magazine, penned an article entitled “ The Secret WWII Gold Hoard That Changed the World ,” about “the looting of the national treasures found” in “a large swath of the globe, including most of the Pacific islands and all of eastern Asia” by Japan. The treasure belonged to “Britain, Netherlands and France, which had moved their gold to Asia ‘for safety’s sake,’ and…13 Asian nations invaded by Japan.”

John based the article on the book Gold Warriors: America’s Secret Recovery of Yamashita’s Gold , written by “historians and respected investigative journalists Sterling and Peggy Seagrave,” who detailed who was involved and how the loot was used, specifically for “the financing of U.S. cloak-and-dagger operations,” “to create a vast slush fund,” and for “an asset base that was used by Washington to beef up the treasuries of its allies, to bribe politicians and to manipulate elections.”

On July 24, 2013, John received an email which stated:

Dear Mr. Tiffany,

I left a message at your office to please call me. I have the assets you wrote about in your March 2012 article. I have been detained by USA authorities for 3 years for not turning them over without a contract or knowledge of how they would be used and to keep the discovery a secret. I have the largest treasure find in history and need an outlet to expose it all. Please call me to discuss this.

John contacted this writer to follow up, and on July 29 I met with the man, referred throughout this article as Mr. Gold, who sent the email, for three hours at an undisclosed location. This was the first time Mr. Gold has spoken to the print media, and AFP is the beneficiary of this exclusive story because the mainstream media has not yet reported on it, although a mainstream television network interviewed Mr. Gold in prison. Mr. Gold has been told that this story may be on TV in the coming months, including a display of parts of the find.

The location as well as his identity will remain obscured until Mr. Gold feels comfortable with the disclosure. He has promised to reveal more in coming articles published by AFP. His story is extremely significant and frightening, if only for his claims. In fact, at 8 o’clock in the morning of the 29th, the day we met, he received a call from a retired Central Intelligence Agency officer who told him, “Protect yourself, you’re a target. You have to be careful.”

The reason that the case has resurfaced is because Mr. Gold was released from the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Cumberland, Maryland , which houses minimum and medium security male offenders, on July 3, 2013, after serving his sentence for mail fraud, which began on October 19, 2010. Prior to that, he was held at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) Brooklyn, New York , from February 19, 2010, until his transfer to FCI Cumberland, where he “was kept in a room with murderers, rapists and gang members,” among others. During his time in MDC Brooklyn, he says “I laid on the bed for nine months,” in order to steer clear of the hardened criminals, who were mostly minorities, in both facilities. The mail fraud charge was bogus, claims Mr. Gold, because “I never mailed a letter to anyone” and “nothing [was] mailed to me.”

The story begins in 1997, when Mr. Gold, a former high-powered Manhattan-based accountant, and two associates, one a California-based physician and the other a Florida-based engineer, formed a group to retrieve “Yamashita’s Gold,” as the treasure trove has been called. They were introduced to the booty by the family of the physician’s wife, a Filipina. The physician had spent up to 10 months of the year in the Philippines tending to the locals, who he had forged a relationship of trust with, and they shared intimate details of the treasure with him.

From 1997 until 2004, the team conducted an inventory of the find, including the verifying of the many bank accounts associated with it. In April of 2004, an agreement was reached between the group and World Bank executives that the group would receive “a sum equivalent to USD 0.02 United States Dollars” of everything that’s turned over. The Washington, D.C.-based World Bank, which was “created at the 1944 Bretton Woods Conference, along with three other institutions, including the International Monetary Fund,” has as its motto, Working for a World Free of Poverty . This is significant because the group wants the assets used for the good of humanity. Mr. Gold claims “it is the biggest economic discovery in history,” where “between the physical assets and the bank accounts there is approximately $100 trillion.”

In November 2004, the group hired a team of ex-military men “to repatriate the bunker assets,” but the team “failed to perform on their signed contract,” which came back to haunt Mr. Gold. The next year, the group contacted the United States Treasury to inform them of their find, and to hammer out a similar agreement as the one they made with the World Bank executives.

Although no agreement was reached, Mr. Gold claims an agent from the Central Intelligence Agency ( CIA ) and a “buyer of precious metals” took him out to lunch at a fancy restaurant “on 5th Avenue” in Manhattan in spring of 2008, where they discussed the find for several hours. That was his only meeting with the CIA agent, but he “was in touch often” with the buyer. Six months later, Mr. Gold was indicted in a matter he claims to have had no involvement with.

In 2008, the team of ex-military men through their company, B.I.M. Mining Corp. , a Nevada “C” corporation, fraudulently raised a bit over $1M “from people, claiming they had assets in Mexico and the Philippines,” and were sued civilly on March 26, 2008, by one of the investors ( PETER VALENTINI V. B.I.M MINING CORP., GREGORY C. SCARLOTO, HARRY K. KAHALE, and RICHARD GRAHAM ). Mr. Gold was not a party to the suit, which back his claims that he had no knowledge of B.I.M.’s actions. “The last I heard from B.I.M. was in November 2004, when they failed to show up in the Philippines,” he said. “They did not even recognize me when I walked into the courtroom.”

On the heels of the civil suit, the U.S. government sued BIM, ( UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, v. HARRY KAHALE, et al., Defendants . ) not naming Mr. Gold in the suit, but adding him “a day later as a co-conspirator from the East Coast.”

On April 15, 2009, at 6 o’clock in the morning, Mr. Gold was arrested at home by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation ( FBI ). “Eight men with guns shackled and handcuffed me in front of my family,” said Mr. Gold.

After freezing all of Mr. Gold’s assets, he was forced to use a public defender and went through a “bizarre, intense and surreal” 21-day trial in 2010. According to Mr. Gold, his lawyer refused to call any witnesses who were prepared to testify, at one point telling him, “I alone decide who testifies. If you want witnesses, tell the judge you’re representing yourself.” He was sentenced to 51-months behind bars on October 12, 2010 and imprisoned. He claims his family was approached several times by the FBI, which may have affected his wife decision to file for divorce and his children to disown him. Incredibly, and backed up by a half dozen witness accounts, the FBI agent on the case called Mr. Gold’s clients and requested that they not pay him, using the phrase “help me get him,” in a successful attempt to cause economic stress.

While incarcerated in FCI Cumberland, Mr. Gold was visited many times by the United States Naval Criminal Investigative Service ( NCIS ), “the primary security, counter-intelligence, counter-terrorism, and law enforcement agency of the U.S. Department of the Navy,” and other intelligence agencies. During one visit with NCIS, they warned him, “Don’t tell anybody we were here; it’s for your protection.” In another visit they stated that, “We don’t want this administration [Obama] to get the assets.”

Mr. Gold will be ready to divulge further information on this matter with this newspaper in two weeks.

The Secret WWII Gold Hoard That Changed the World
March 18, 2012

By John Tiffany

During World War II, Japan conquered a large swath of the globe, including most of the Pacific islands and all of eastern Asia. Emperor Hirohito , portrayed as an innocent “marine biologist,” in reality directed the looting of the national treasures found throughout this large chunk of the world. These include the wealth of Britain, Netherlands and France, which had moved their gold to Asia “for safety’s sake,” and the national treasures of 13 Asian nations invaded by Japan.

Why they call it Yamashita’s gold is anyone’s guess. In reality, it was the treasure of Hirohito. Yamashita merely worked for Hirohito.

The royal family was put in charge of supervising the whole process, and as much booty as possible was taken to Japan. Many treasure ships were scuttled in Tokyo Bay, with an eye to salvaging the loot when the war was over.

Some of the treasure was first taken to the Philippines. But the Americans began sinking Japanese ships left and right, so the emperor and his family decided to hide much of the treasure in caves in the Philippines, expecting and hoping that the islands would remain in Japanese hands at the end of the war and the loot could then be recovered.

The routine was to select a good cave, fill it with treasure, and then blowup the entrance to the cave, with the workers sealed inside where they would soon die.

After the war, many secret deals were made by the United States government to let Japanese war criminals, especially the top criminal, the emperor, and the royal family, off the hook. In exchange, much of the stolen gold, silver, gems, antiquities etc was secretly taken by U.S. government insiders, particularly the Office of Strategic Services ( OSS )/Central Intelligence Agency ( CIA ) and various generals in the military. This is where the secret agency got its first big financing—under the table of course. This secret dealing was itself one of the greatest crimes of the 20th century.

Noted historians and respected investigative journalists Sterling and Peggy Seagrave, in their book Gold Warriors: America’s Secret Recovery of Yamashita’s Gold , documented the  multibillion dollar World War II loot, valued at perhaps over 120 billion 1945 dollars.

In December 1937, Japan declared war on China and surrounded the capital city, which at that time was Nanking. Prince Chichibu, younger brother of Hirohito, had been chosen to direct the ultra-secret treasure-looting team. This team was given a code name of “the Golden Lily” after a poem the emperor had written, and 6,600 tons of gold were recovered from Nanking alone, plus silver and precious stones. That was just the beginning of the emperor’s loot-the-world operation.

On December 7, 1941, Pearl Harbor suffered a “surprise” attack from the empire of Japan, delivering a crippling blow to U.S. military forces.

The “island fortress” of Singapore soon fell to General Tomoyuki Yamashita (February 1942), and with General Douglas MacArthur pulling out of the Philippines, abandoning his men, the last American and Filipino troops surrendered to Japan’s General Masaharu Homma. The infamous Death March began.

Japanese victories on all fronts were heady. Burma was in Japanese hands by March, 1942. Plans had been drawn up to invade Australia. Southeast Asia and most of the islands in the Pacific were as good as Japan’s.

Yasuhito, Prince Chichibu of Japan’s royal family, in Singapore, was very pleased when his men found the treasures of Britain stored in Asian banks. Another pleasant surprise experienced by Prince Chichibu was the discovery that the Dutch had moved their treasures to the East Indies. Not only did Japan have the wealth of the Asian continent, but they were now rewarded with much of the European treasures as well.

Collection of wealth throughout the conquered lands continued. With over 5,000 years of Asia’s antiquity to pillage, the amounts collected were astronomical. With Shanghai in their hands, the Golden Lily team found themselves stretched to the limit keeping up with the collection and melting down of precious metals.

Japan’s luck, however, started to run out by May, 1942. Their first setback was the Battle of the Coral Sea , where the Allies had forced Japan to turn back her invasion fleet, which Hirohito had planned to land in New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. The following month they suffered another big setback with the Battle of Midway , where Japan lost four carriers and the cream of her aviators. These were the very ships and pilots that had attacked Pearl Harbor five months earlier. In August, the U.S. landed an invasion force on Guadalcanal. Japan tried for months to dislodge the American Marines but eventually had to concede this island base. After that, Japan was unable to launch another major offensive anywhere.

The war would drag on for three years, while the Japanese gradually lost the lands that they had conquered. Hirohito’s dream was ending, and  his nightmare had begun.

By mid-1942 Prince Chichibu was faced with the challenge of where and how to hide the treasures so that they could not be discovered after the war. He decided the loot would have to be hidden in caves and tunnel systems.

As the Seagraves explain, a pivotal event in the recovery of the Golden Lily caches was the torture of General Yamashita’s driver, who eventually confessed the whereabouts of some of the repositories.

After the war, much of the hidden gold and treasure was gathered up by Severino Diaz Garcia Santa Romana, an OSS and CIA agent, known as Santy. Santy worked with U.S. General Edward Lansdale and other corrupt U.S. generals and politicians, to secrete the gold in foreign bank accounts. The stolen loot was utilized for a variety of purposes, in particular the financing of U.S. cloak-and-dagger operations.

The booty was combined with more treasure stolen from the Nazis to create a vast slush fund called the Black Eagle Trust, which ultimately became a source of enormous corruption, luring many individuals into temptation and, sometimes, death.

This bloody gold gave the Truman administration access to virtually limitless unvouchered funds for secret, and usually unconstitutional, operations.

It also provided an asset base that was used by Washington to beef up the treasuries of its allies, to bribe politicians and to manipulate elections.

It is a vast story and in this space we can only point out some highlights. But the purpose of Gold Warriors , by the Seagraves, is to reveal why so  little is known of the massive Japanese looting of the world, and the devious and unconstitutional role Washington politicians and bureaucrats played in the taking over of much of this booty and glossing over horrible Japanese atrocities, especially by the emperor and royal family, and the cover-up of all of this, which continues to this day. They have backed up their book with extensive research, and it is a very important contribution to the field of authentic, Revisionist history.

Big Brother Breaking Bad
by Scott Gallagher
on August 2, 2013

pandora

pandora sale My favorite TV show returns next week,  Breaking Bad . Sadly if you don’t know what that show is, it’s basically about a normal middle aged dude who thinks he only has a few months to live and so he decides he wants to leave his family a little nest egg for when he’s gone, so he decides to start cooking and selling Meth. Each season this guy has slowly turned from nice, normal man, to a  ruthless, cunning, murderer. My point here, is that I’m starting to see some of the house guest we were all rooting for a few weeks ago, starting to “break bad”. I mean honestly, who is the “likably” house guest here, that America usually pulls for each season? When the season started, Helen, Mccrae, Andy and Judd all seemed like high virtue, morally strong players. Now it seems like the power has affected them like a drug. It’s like America is having to relive the time Jesse Spano got hooked on diet pills parlayed with Brandon Walsh becoming a gambling addict, only were dealing with this all at once.  www.youtube.com/watch?v= bflYjF90t7c

pandora outlet shops These are not the same people we were pulling for a couple weeks ago. We will get back to them in a minute, but lets all pay are final respects to Howard first.  Howard, I was pulling for you, but then you started making incoherent speeches that made George W Bush sound like Abraham Lincoln. Let’s keep it real here, we all trust each other and this is a safe place to share, Ok? I will start sharing first and then other people can jump in , cool?  Howard you were god-awful at this game. He was horrible in the physical competitions, he was horrible in the non-physical competitions and his social game was horrible. I don’t really like the power in the house right now, but Howard didn’t exactly deserve to stay in the house. RIP Howard..

pandora outlet shops Let’s move on and do a hypothetical “Spoiler Alert” on who wins HOH. In fact, let’s make this hypothetical spoiler alert seem really, really nutty. Let’s say that hell has frozen over, and Ginamaria has won HOH…I know! Cats and dogs living together, mass hysteria! In this silly, hypothetical spoiler alert I’m actually happy she won it! Wouldn’t it be great if instead of a letter from home that each HOH gets there first night, is instead a restraining order from Nick?

pandora charms sale Let’s get into the action:

Mccrae – He was a fan favorite until Wednesdays show. The ways he acted when Amanda thankfully got put up by America was nothing short of gross. He was acting pissed at Spencer and threatening him in the most awkward. I really don’t want to be crude, but Mccrae please get your balls out of Amanda’s purse. Mccrae is starting to act entitled, and seems to be losing that childs charm that we all liked, basically he is acting like Tom Hanks in the second half of  Big,  when he started losing his innocence and his sweet nature. He will be safe this week, but I don’t like this road he is heading on. Maybe like in  Big , one of his Little Cesar Pizza bros can stop by the house and smack some sense in him, so he remembers who he is and where he came from.
Amanda – Please America, put her up again! I think that if she goes up this week there is a decent chance that she goes home. The people in the house have looked the other way at Amanda and Mccrae being a pair, but I don’t think they can look the other way anymore. Amanda will do what Amanda does, which is to act like Demi Moore in  Disclosure  and take any heat off herself and shoot it towards Spencer and if that doesn’t work then towards Candice. Amanda will not go quietly into the night when her time comes, which will make that moment very interesting TV.
Ginamaria has a chance to really cause an earthquake in the house.

Ginamaria – Hypothetically, Ginamaria has a chance to really cause an earthquake in the house. Sadly, President Obama probably knows the current dynamics of the Big Brother house better than Ginamaria.  Ginamaria doesn’t know who is calling the shots in the house. She has been mourning Nick for 28 days in a row, maybe she can start playing the game now. I have a feeling that Aaryn will talk her into putting up Spencer, which I don’t think is the best move for Ginamaria. The possibilities are many for her, but I think she will be controlled and turn into Helen’s second  Manchurian Candidate . If she lets Helens program her, Ginamaria will have wasted maybe the only time she will be HOH this season.
Aaryn – Racey Bigot-tims McGee(Her full Christian name I think) has settled down and don’t look now, but she is sliding under the radar. Aaryn seems like the swing vote in the house now, smack in the middle. I don’t think her long term plan is safe if she is thinking she is going to roll with Helen as equals (It actually might happen but not for the reasons she thinks, cause of the small problem of everybody in the universe viewing her as  Cruella Deville. ) I don’t think she sees that she should have gone against that side of the house this week, because even if she did break her deal with Helen, Howard and Spencer still would have been the main targets moving forward. Aaryn is being controlled for now, maybe her inner  Chucky  will emerge soon! This is going to be the telling week for Aaryn, as will she just fall into line with Helen’s crew or will she be more ambiguous. I hope it’s the latter.
Spencer is who I’m pulling for now, only because he stood up to Amanda. Has there ever been a more unlucky player in the history of Big Brother? Every move this guy try’s to make blows up in his face. Spencer can’t catch a break. Speaking out against the Gestapo of the house is going to be the end of Spencer, probably this week unless he can pull a rabbit out of his hat, but right now it seems like he couldn’t hit water if he fell out of a boat. Keep up the fight Spencer and go after Amanda. Spencer seems to be able to read people pretty well, so he should use that to his advantage and try and find a crack on Helen’s side of the house. The problem is that nobody trust’s Spencer, so any big move Spencer wants to make would have to come from someone else.
Helen – If nothing else, Helen really needs to work on her celebrations….Her corny, Elaine from  Seinfeld  moves are still horrible. Helens game play is intense. Helen has risen to some serious power since her HOH reign.  Helen is like Avon Barksdale from  The Wire , as she has her crew focused, guarding her “block” like the secret service and anybody that “steps” to her or her crew is getting smoked so you better recognize son. Seriously, she is playing the game well, but she is making it hard to pull for her. In Big Brother it’s more entertaining when things aren’t so predictable, so you can’t blame Helen for playing the game she playing, because she is playing great, it’s just not pleasing at times to watch.

pandora outlet online What breed of snake is Andy?

Andy – We still don’t know what breed of snake Andy is. He is going to slither to the power this week again. Andy is still in a good place as everybody still seems to view him as harmless as well as being aligned with them. Andy out of everybody in the house has to see that at some point soon he needs to get either Amanda or Helen out of there. Amanda would be the easier move and so that is my guess, that getting rid of Amanda will be his “statement” move, either this week or in the near future.
Judd – Now that the smoke is almost cleared with the remnants of the Moving Company, Judds name is starting to get brought up in whispers as a possible back door candidate. Judd is not going to win the game playing with Helen’s side of the house, so he needs to attack her corner soon, and what better way to do that then to go after Amanda. Judd needs to summon his inner  Ernest , talk to Vern and get a plan in place to make this happen. Maybe snagging Candice while she is ripe for the picking. I don’t think a hit will be put on Judds life  this week but he can’t just lay back and float anymore, he needs to get more proactive or he’s getting sent back to the fishing hole with  Opie  back in Mayberry.

What was the point of her speech?

Candice – What was the point of her speech this episode. Was she hoping for a “slow clap” at the end of it, like Ronald Millers speech in  Cant Buy Me Love ? If she can’t use her coping skills to manage her emotions in a normal way then she may inexplicably take the heat off Spencer and could be the next one evicted. Playing without Howard could possibly be a positive for her game as maybe she can find her way into another partnership, I doubt it, but that should be her move this week.
Elissa and Jessie – The two random chica’s that have no idea what is happening around them at any time. Maybe these two girls can grab Candice and then start an alliance, called, “The Craft” and use their irrationalness as an advantage to scare the hell out of the rest of the house, so everybody avoids them. Would that really shock anybody at this point? Was Elissa even on the episode tonight? Jessie was on for two seconds, when for reasons not understood by anybody, was crying about Candice. Not a lot to analyze here, I guess I will try harder on Monday.

Prediction time, the power in the house has not shifted in four weeks. Ginamaria as the hypothetical HOH  could shake up the house, but my guess is that Spencer and Candice start out on the block. I  hope to god  think that Amanda will be put up by America again. Last week Amanda avoided her gruesome destiny, this week she may not be so lucky. Look for something to change the dynamics in the house this week. CBS may try something this week, like a Pandora’s box. See you all Monday!

No More Hunting for Spanish Treasures Says Florida

rolex Florida should be a treasure hunter’s dream come true. Except it’s not.

replica watches Its sand and sea hide riches of the past, thanks to the state’s Spanish colonizers of the 1500s and treasure-laden ships that sank off shores.

rolex submariner replica

replica rolex Until recently, you didn’t have needed to dig very deep to find valuable booty. With a metal detector, you easily could unearthed treasures left behind by forgetful beachgoers.

replica watches A Tiffany & Co. platinum wedding band worth more than $2,000, a 3/4-carat diamond ring, a 2-carat ruby ring and a mint-condition Rolex Submariner watch are just a few of the riches Gary Drayton recovered during his metal-hunting days. His best find was a 9-carat Spanish-era emerald ring.

replica rolex But that may be the end of it for Drayton and his treasure-seeking ilk.

While it’s legal to use metal detectors at Florida’s Atlantic and Gulf Coast state parks, Drayton told Florida Watchdog, treasure hunters have to get permission from the park manager and hunt only on the dry, sandy beach between the high water line and the sand dune.

The Florida Division of Recreation & Parks Department of Environmental Protection says the restriction is to ensure the “preservation and protection of archaeological resources.”

Now, it seems, cities are getting into the act.

St. Augustine recently decided to expand its restrictions by prohibiting the use of metal detectors on public property without the express consent of the city manager or the town archaeologist.

State treasure hunters are up in arms.

“If you lose your watch in the sea, even close to shore, I can’t help you find it with a detector because I’m violating the law,” Drayton said. “They can fine me and I can go to jail.”

The laws were enacted years ago when the state began approving licenses for marine exploration.

If you hunt offshore, where big treasure awaits discovery, you will need a lot more than a metal detector.  Along with special permits, there are numerous regulations and procedures to be met before you can even think about digging. If you actually do hit it big under the seat, the state’s takes a 20-percent share of your booty.
